SMAG (Slávia Modern Art Gallery), a collection gallery, aims to meet the expectations of both the professional and non-professional public. The main goal of the gallery is to develop and enrich the permanent exhibition with new pieces of art. Almost 170 m2 of the exhibition area offers space for presentation of the domestic art scene, especially young Slovak artists who are successful at home and abroad.
The gallery creates a place for a newly emerged discussion and interpretation platform for artists and the public. Not only is the lucrative location in the heart of Košice, but also the unconventional historical context of the Art Nouveau building enhances the atmosphere. In contrast, the gallery itself is a modern place, connecting the past and the present.
